After Marvel Studios
President Kevin Feige "accidentally" revealing the title for
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 during the press junket for Ant-Man, James Gunn has
decided to come forward and officially confirm that the sequel to his 2014 hit
will indeed by called Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which seems to be a
reference to Peter Quill's aka Star Lord's Awesome Mix Vol.1 soundtrack.
Opening on May 5,
2017, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will see the return of James Gunn to the
director's chair, as well as Chris Pratt (Peter Quill), Zoe Saldana (Gamora),
Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (Groot), and Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon).
