After
spending hours stopping terrorists on the small screen, Jack Bauer is finally
going to let someone else have the spotlight, and no, it is not Chloe.
After a
somewhat successful revival with 24: Live Another Day, Fox is currently working
on a spinoff series, which will introduce a "twenty something male
terrorist hunter," said executive producer Howard Gordon, who also
revealed that it will be a limited series, but depending on the numbers it
could become a "long-term property for Fox."
The spinoff
will see the new antihero work alongside a more seasoned female agent, who is
not Yvonne Strahovski's Kate Morgan. However, both her and Kiefer Sutherland,
who appeared in 207 episodes of the franchise, could reprise their roles but as guest stars.
24 and 24:
Live Another Day's writers and producers Manny Coto and Evan Katz are onboard to
both write and executive produce the offshoot, which will maintain the "real-time
concept".
