Certain movies strike a chord when you're young, and for many the cult supernatural
"horror" teen film, The Craft does precisely that.
Sony Pictures has
announced that they will be remaking the 1996 film with newcomer director Leigh Janiak
helming and co-writing the project alongside another newcomer, Phil Graziadei.
Despite the short
experience, both Janiak, and Graziadei recently impressed audiences, critics,
and studios alike with Honeymoon, a horror film starring Rose Leslie (Game of
Thrones), and Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful).
The original film
starred Robin Tuney (Sarah) as a newcomer to a Catholic prep high school with telekinetic
powers, who falls in with a trio of wannabe witches played by Neve Campbell (Bonnie),
Fairuza Balk (Nancy), and Robin True (Rochelle). The group soon starts
experimenting with the dark arts to fix their personal problems and cause
mischief, however they are dealing with forces they cannot comprehend or
control.
