Six Actors Have Read For Spider-Man; A Decision Could Be Imminent

With Spider-Man making his MCU debut in next year's Captain America: Civil War, speculation about who will be portraying him is not has high has one would have thought, which is strange considering that production on directors Anthony and Joe Russo's sequel is well under way.

The last time we heard anything about the spider-casting, Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game), and Tom Holland (The Impossible), were at the top of Sony and Marvel's list, with Butterfield close to start negotiations and not in negotiations like it was previously reported. Now, two weeks have passed and four new actors have join the list of candidates and they are Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society), Matthew Lintz (Pixels), Judah Lewis (Point Break remake), and Charlie Plummer (Boardwalk Empire).

According to THR, all six actors flew to Atlanta to read for the role in front of Marvel's president Kevin Feige, producer Amy Pascal, and the Russo brothers. The news outlet cautions that they may end up passing on all six actors but since production has already begun, I have a tough time believing one won't be picked, and soon.
