Two time nominated, and one
time Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon has become attached the live-action
reimagining of Peter Pan's fairy character, Tinker Bell.
Unlike other more recent
live-action reinterpretations of classical Disney animations, Tink (as it was
know at the time), has been in development for at least five years. In 2010,
Elizabeth Banks was cast to play the titular character, but a couple of years
later little progress has been made, with Banks saying that they had a great
script but further development was needed.
Now, according to The
Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon will be producing and starring in the film,
which will count with a script from Finding Dory's co-writer, Victoria Strouse.
Tinkerbell
will "play with the idea and timeline of the well known Peter Pan narrative,"
and like Maleficent will tell "the story you don’t know".
