With Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation wrapped and
ready to go, Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions, and Bad Robot are
already thinking of the next installment of the superspy franchise.
According to The Tracking Board, the sixth entry in
the lucrative and entertaining franchise is already being planned with Tom
Cruise, J.J. Abrams, Dana Goldberg, and David Ellison returning to produce.
No word on who will direct the upcoming film, but if
history is to be repeated then we should expect a new director to take control since all previous films were directed by someone different, Brian de Palma, John Woo, J.J.
Abrams, Brad Bird, and Christopher McQuarrie.
It's also unclear who might return but since the
franchise has embraced continuity we should expect Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner,
and Ving Rhames to return alongside Tom Cruise.
