A couple of months ago directors
Chad Stahelski and David Leitch confirmed
that a sequel to their sleeper hit, John Wick was in development.
Now, Lionsgate has announced that not only are the
directors and screenwriter Derek Kolstad returning, but also Keanu Reeves.
"With
such tremendous fan and critical support for John Wick, we
knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell," said Jason
Constantine, President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at Lionsgate.
"We are thrilled that Keanu, David and Chad have reteamed with us and
promise to bring audiences even more excitement the second time around."
John Wick managed to snag a little
bit of profit, making over $78 million at the worldwide box-officer on a
production budget of just $20 million.
Lionsgate International will be
selling the sequel at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.
