Goosebumps screenwriter Carl
Ellsworth has been tapped by Warner Bros. to pen the screenplay for the
upcoming reboot of Joe Dante's 1984 classic "horror" comedy,
Gremlins.
Set during Christmas, Gremlins
follows Billy Peltzer (Zack Galligan) and his pet Gizmo's adventure to restore
order to a small town after Billy accidentally broke the three cardinal rules
about pet caring.
There have been some rumors
that Chris Columbus, who wrote the first film, might direct this one, but
studio insiders say that has not been discussed yet.
