After playing Howard
Stark in the Marvel Cinematic universe, British actor Dominic Cooper is set to
star in yet another comic book adaptation.
According to the A.V.
Club, Cooper has signed the dotted line to play Jesse Custer in the upcoming TV
adaptation of Garth Ennis, and Steve Dillon's Preacher.
Custer is a
small-town Texas preacher, who after being given the power to make anyone do
what he says, teams up with his ex-girlfriend Tulip O'Hare (Ruth Negga), and an
Irish Vampire called Cassidy (Joe Gilgun) to find God and force him to explain
why he forsook creation.
Ian Colletti and Lucy
Griffiths have also been cast to play Arseface, and Emily, respectively in the
series that is being developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
