Director Alan Taylor's upcoming Terminator: Genisys
will see Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic Terminator go into several different, new,
and somewhat intriguing directions, as according to the actor he won't just be
reprising his role.
The story has changed, so I am like a combination of
the characters who you have seen in the past. He is a powerful and potentially
evil kind of machine that can be very destructive if I see that a there is
danger from me or for the victory against the machines. I can switch over to
being the protector of Sarah Connor. It depends where we are in
this storyline.
Sounds confusing? Like in the first film, the upcoming sequel/reboot will once
again see Kyle Reese (Jay Courtney) travel back in time to prevent Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) from being killed by
a Terminator (Schwarzenegger), however upon arriving he realizes that the
previous unsuspecting Sarah not only already knows what is happening, but is
fighting the evil machines.
It will be interesting to see how all this tinkering
with the franchise timeline will play out. Meanwhile here are a couple of
new stills from the July 1 release, which also stars Jason Clarke (John Connor), Dayo Okeniyi (Miles
Dyson), Byung-hun Lee, Michael Gladis, Sandrine Holt, J.K. Simmons, Douglas
Smith, and Matt Smith.
