The Librarians (Lamia),
Gotham (Copperhead), and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena (Naevia) actress Lesley-Ann
Brandt is replacing Lina Esco as Maze in the upcoming adaptation of DC Comics'
Lucifer. Maze is Lucifer's best friend and a demon in the form of a beautiful young
woman.
Originally
the series' logline was similar to the one from the comics, where growing tired
of his hellish responsibilities, Lucifer relocates to LA where he opens a piano
bar called Lux. Now however it seems that the series has deviated slightly from
its source material, and has turned into a police procedural, with Lucifer
helping the LAPD punishing the criminals.
No reason for Esco's
departure from the pilot was given, but Brandt joins Tom Ellis as the titular Lucifer, Lauren German
as Chloe Dancer, Nicholas Gonzalez as Dan, Rachael Harris as Linda, and D.B.
Woodside as Amenadiel.
