Joe Manganiello
was Flash Thompson in director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. He was at one
point rumored for the Batman role in director Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman:
Dawn of Justice, and now it looks like he is one signature away from reteaming
with his Sabotage director, David Ayer in the upcoming Suicide Squad.
According
to Cinema Blend, the Magic Mike star is as good as cast as Slade Wilson, aka
Deathstroke in Ayer's Suicide Squad. However, the site cautions that nothing is
set in stone just yet, and that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes star Jason
Clarke is Warner Bros. second choice should Manganiello decide not to join.
A source close to the
production tells us that Magic Mike co-star Joe Manganiello
has ALL BUT locked up the part of Deathstroke in David Ayer’s Suicide
Squad. The deal isn't done yet. Jason Clarke is reportedly still in play,
but our source says it is an almost certainty that Manganiello has the role.
Opening
on August 5, 2016, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith (Deadshot), Jared Leto (Joker),
Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jay Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne
(Enchantress), Viola David (Amanda Waller), and Joel Kinnaman.
