It looks like another villain has join the ranks of
CBS's upcoming adaptation of Supergirl. According with io9, The Mentalist and
Extant star Owain Yeoman has been cast as supervillain Vartox in the series.
This outlandish looking character once tried to get
Power Girl to help him repopulate his home world, however the new incarnation
of the character is a sports broadcaster, which more "appropriate"
for the series.
The CBS pilot centers on Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl
(Melissa Benoist), who after escaping Krypton and finding a home here on Earth
with the Danvers family, must use her powers for the benefit of all humankind.
Supergirl also stars Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant),
David Harewood (Hank Henshaw), Mehcad Brooks (Jimmy Olsen), Chyler Leigh (Alex
Danvers), Melina Weissman (young Kara), Jeremy Jordan (Toyman), Laura Benanti (Alura
Zor-El), Faran Tahir (The Commander), and former Supergirl and Superman Helen
Slater, and Dean Cain in unspecified roles.
