CBS' Supergirl series just cast
two major characters. Chyler Leigh (Grey's Anatomy, Taxi Brooklyn) was cast as
Alexandra "Alex" Danvers, and David Harewood (Homeland) as Hank
Henshaw, aka Cyborg Superman.
Alex is Kara’s
gorgeous, brilliant, science-minded foster sister, who grew up partly jealous
of her sibling and yet fascinated by her abilities, which prompted Alex to
learn as much as she could about alien anthropology, sociology and culture. Now
an adult Alex works for a secret government organization and, alongside Kara,
will face many challenges, both mundane and super.
Henshaw on the other hand is a former CIA agent that grew
obsessed with intergalactic intel. Now in his 40's and running over the DEO
(Department of Extra-Normal Operations), he is on high alert when Supergirl
reveals herself to the World.
In some behind-the-scene news, Arrow
and The Flash's Andrew Kreisberg has joined Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler as a
writer and executive producer on Supergirl.
