When
Laura Benanti was first announced as Alura Zor-El, Kara's biological mother in
CBS' upcoming Supergirl pilot, she was described as a noble woman whose "wisdom
and guidance echoes across space and time, proving invaluable on Kara's journey
toward becoming Supergirl". This brief description was enough to
make some fans believe that she would appear either in a flashback sequence, or
as a Jor-El type guiding "ghost". Well, apparently it's none of those
assumptions.
It’s very early on, so I wouldn’t feel comfortable
saying anything other than our mere nine-year age difference will make sense.
On Krypton age doesn’t necessarily matter. A lot of people on Twitter were
like, “She’s too young to be her mom!” But it will all make sense once you see
the show.
