With production on X-Men: Apocalypse set to begin this coming Spring,
director Bryan Singer is making his final casting adjustments for the younger versions
of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm.
According to the Latino Review a new shortlist of actors has emerged for those
roles. It looks like Taron Edgerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie
Blackley (If I Stay), and Ty Sheridan (Mud) are being eyed for the Cyclops
part, with Sheridan leading the list.
For the younger Jean Grey role, actresses Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones),
Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) are apparently the ones headlining the list, but Haillee
Steinfeld, Elle Fanning, and Chloe Grace Moretz were also previously rumored
for the role.
As for the Storm role, it seems that up and coming actresses Alexandra
Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B), and Zendaya Coleman (K.C. Undercover)
are the ones testing for it.
As I said production is set to begin in April, so expect to hear an
official confirmation of any of these names or perhaps others sooner rather than
later.
