I guess if we say it
long enough it becomes true. The rumor of Godzilla director Gareth Edwards'
Star Wars spinoff being about a group of bounty hunters that steal the plans
for the first Death Star has gone from that, a rumor to fact, and so much so
that rumors of actor Michael Fassbender being eyed to play Boba Fett in the
film are being reported.
According to ikwiz, “Boba
Fett is a mantle. The name, the ship and the armor gets passed down to a
successor. That's how he is brought back for the films and explains the
character for later stories.”
They add that Disney
understand the importance of the character for fans, and will make sure we will
get more of him.
“Fett fans are in for
a few surprises. They [Disney] get the cult status of the
character, so you're going to see more Boba Fett in the future.”
The site finishes
things by saying that "Michael Fassbender is the frontrunner to
be Boba Fett, fact!"
As always take it
with a grain of salt or two, but Fassbender as a packed year ahead of him. The
actor is currently filming the Steve Jobs biopic, and he has the X-Men:
Apocalypse, Assassin's Creed, and Prometheus 2 films coming up, so I'm entirely
sure if he could manage to squeeze Bobba Fett (if that is in fact a character
in the film) in considering the film is also scheduled to open in 2016.
What do you think?
