Don't worry, the
highly anticipated Bourne reunion of actor Matt Damon and director Paul
Greengrass wasn't delayed a month or a year. According to Variety, the fourth
entry in the Damon/Bourne franchise has moved from the previously scheduled
July 16, 2016 release date to the more "friendly" July 29, 2016. This
is a smart move by the studio, who manages to escape from competing against Ice
Age 5, and the second week of Star Trek 3, which would certainly "steal"
something from the opening of the film. In this new date the new Bourne film
will have to deal with the comedy Mike & Dave Need Weeding Dates, however
it will still open a week after DC's highly anticipated Suicide Squad. So it
all comes down to how good or bad Suicide Squad is and if people will be re-watching
it or jumping ship and choosing to see the new Bourne film instead.
