Director Jonathan Liebesman's reboot of the Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles was bittersweet. It was financial hit, making just under
$500 million worldwide but unfortunately, it didn't lived up to both fans and
critics expectations. Now according to
The Wrap, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies
and Platinum Dunes have set their eyes on Earth to Echo director Dave
Green to replace Liebesman, though they do say that it is all still in the
early stages so anything can happen. Besides it looks like Green will be
directing Dwayne Johnson in Lore, so we will have to see if the director's
schedule is available for the TMNT sequel.
The screenwriters from the 2014 hit,
André Nemec, and Josh Appelbaum as set to return to pen and executive produce the sequel, which is scheduled to open on June 3, 2016.
