Rejoice fans, the teaser trailer for
J.J. Abrams Star Wars: The Force Awakens almost didn't happen, it seems that it
was Walt Disney Company Chief Bob Iger the one that pushed for the teaser to be
released this year.
“I keep telling J.J. Abrams this is a
$4 billion movie,” Iger said, referring to the cost of acquiring Lucasfilm. “We need to treat this very special. It’s an unbelievable privilege
and unbelievable responsibility to take a jewel and treat it in a way that is
respectful of its past but brings it into the future.”
We all know how protective of his
projects Abrams his, and we can't really blame for that, but Iger says that it
was the fanbase that ultimately convinced the studio to put out the teaser.
