So far we know next to nothing from Josh Trank's
reboot of the Fantastic Four. However, the things we do know will make this
reboot distance itself from the previous two movies.
We know that this Fantastic Four is younger, we know
that Johnny Storm's race has changed, and we know that the team origin will be
somewhat different from the one we previously saw depicted on the big screen. So it's seems that Trank's is going for a completely new
and different approach, which not only affects our heroes but also the villain.
While promoting the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
DVD/Blu-ray release, Toby Kebbell revealed a few interesting details about his
character Victor Von Doom, or Domashev.
"He’s Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story. And I’m
sure I’ll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours—I’m a
programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on
blogging sites I’m “Doom”."
The actor also spoke about the director's vision for the film, and how his
character fits into all this.
"Yeah, it was cool man. Josh, the whole deal, the lo-fi way he
did it, the ultra-real. It was just nice to do that. It was nice to
be feeling like we had to come to terms with what was given by this incident."
Set to hit theaters on August
7, 2015, Fantastic Four stars Michael B. Jordan as Johnny
Storm/Human Torch, Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell as
Ben Grimm/Thing, Kate Mara as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Toby Kebbel as Dr.
Doom, Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder/Mole Man and Reg E. Cathey as Dr. Storm.
