According to Deadline, Marvel have begun testing
actresses to play Jessica Jones in the upcoming Netflix series from Melissa
Rosenberg. Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies),
Alexandre Daddario (True Detective), and Jessica De Gow (Arrow) were some of
the actresses invited by the studio to test for the character.
The 13-episode series follows Jones "a superhero suffering with post-traumatic stress
disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own
detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other
superheroes."
As for Luke Cage it looks like actors Mike Colter (The
Following), and Lance Gross (Crisis) are being consider for the role. Deadline
goes on to say that Cage will first appear in six or seven episodes of Jessica
Jones before jumping to his own series.
