According to /Film, Gareth
Edwards Star Wars spin-off will focus on a group of bounty hunters hired by the
Rebel Alliance to steal the plans of the first Death Star. The site adds that
we should "think
the Seven Samurai or Suicide Squad meets Ocean’s Eleven in the world of Star
Wars."
They also have some other pieces
of information, including that the Millennium Falcon will be involved in the
film but not Han Solo, and that the main character of the film will be
introduced in J.J. Abrams The Force Awakens.
As always take it with a grain of
salt, but they do speculate that given his age, Max Von Sydow's character could
be this character that is introduced first in The Force Awakens and then stars in Gareth's spin-off.
They also point out some issues
with this plot, like for instances would Darth Vader hire Bounty Hunters to go
in search of the Millennium Falcon knowing that these or others had stolen the
plans for the Death Star? Also, Han Solo owns the Falcon at the time the film
supposedly takes place, but if he is not in the film, then was the ship stolen?
Did he what rent it? Does Lando still have the ship?
