Last night on The Antiques Roadshow, presenter Fiona Bruce was shocked to
hear that the show's experts had praised collector Stephen Lane's original 1977
Star Wars Tie Fighter pilot helmet for £40,000-£50,000.
Bruce looked
dismissive about the whole thing, tapping the prop and calling it "a bit
of plastic".
Lane says that the helmet was “buried in the attic with one of the senior crew members of the film who was gifted it” and as far as he knows it is one of only 12 made.
