Although Marvel hasn't yet
announced Black Panther has one of their future movies, many Hollywood stars
have been preaching their names so that when the time comes the studio knows
who wants in.
The latest addition to the roster
of stars that have already stated that they want to play Black Panther is The
Wire and Boardwalk Empire star, Michael K. Williams.
While promoting his upcoming film
with Avengers star Jeremy Renner, Kill the Messenger, Williams was asked if he
had been approached by Marvel.
"No not yet. And I'm saying
'yet' with a lot of emphasis. But hopefully I'm looking forward to being apart
of the franchise."
The actor then specified
the role he has his eyes on.
"Black Panther. Yeah,
definitely. I grew up with it, but I'm more excited about the opportunity. I'm
a little more old school. I was into Superman, Batman, Spider-Man. My three top
favorites by far. And then you know Wonder Woman, Aquaman -- you know that's my
world. That's my childhood. I would definitely bring that quintessential New
York City edge. You know, just a little bit of that grit."
What do you think of Williams as
Black Panther?
