Speaking to CBR, Arrow executive producer Andrew
Kreisberg revealed that fans should expect to see the Suicide Squad back in the
upcoming season of the show, as for Harley it seems that she won't be getting
out anytime soon.
"I
don't know about that," said Kreisberg when asked if Harley Quinn would appear
in the next season. "There are very few things we've asked
DC Comics for that we haven't gotten. That was something you asked for, and
what you saw is a compromise that Geoff Johns and I came up with. To even get
that much was a thrill for us. I know that they may have other plans for her,
but it was certainly an Easter egg that thrilled us. But the Suicide Squad will
definitely be back. Whether we see the 'deranged female killer' we saw before,
we'll have to wait and see."
The problem with Harley is her origin story. I mean how
would they explain it? Would they just drop off two of the biggest names in
DC's history, Joker, and Batman, and never speak of them again?
As for a Harley Quinn, or Suicide Squad movies they
probably won't happen, at least not for now. I'm guessing that Warner Bros./DC
are betting on their properties that have the franchise potential in them like,
Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, etc... On the other hand, I wouldn't be too
surprised if she was to appear next to the Joker in the next Batman solo movie.
