New Details On Lucy Lawless' Character In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The second season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will introduce more characters from the comic pages. Absorbing Man, Mockingbird, Kraken have been confirmed for the new season, but so has S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Isabelle Hartley, who will be played by Xena Warrior Princess, and Spartacus star, Lucy Lawless, who will have a history with the new agency director, Agent Coulson.

Executive producer, Maurissa Tancharoen reveals that the pair will share more of a “mutual respect” than a romantic past, while fellow executive producer, Jed Whedon hinted that Lawless character might be the same one that dated the deceased boss of The Hub, Victoria Hand saying that “there is always a chance”. Whedon goes on to say that “when we meet her, she might not necessarily be on the right side of things”. So perhaps she's on downward spiral of revenge over the death of Victoria?

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on September 23 on ABC.
