Last
night, director James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy opened for a select few
and the word out there is that it is good, which begs the question, speculating
that the film does well enough at the box office, and considering the ever
expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, will the director return to helm the
sequel?
“I’m actually in a somewhat
weird position,” he told The Adam Carolla Show during
a recent interview. “Because if the movie does well,
then I’m gonna make the sequel. And if it does okay then, well, I’ve
already been offered other movies but I can only do those other movies if I
don’t do the sequel, so it’s a weird situation.”
If I was
a betting man, I would say Guardians is going to do more than well at the box
office, and that one of the release dates Marvel as announced will be for a
Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Guardians of the
Galaxy opens on August 1st in the US and on July 31st.
