Despite the recent uncertainty about the sequels and
spin-offs, The Amazing Spider-Man marches on. According to THR, Sony has
scheduled The Sinister Six to be released on November 11, 2016, and The Amazing
Spider-Man 3 in 2018.
Initially the third and fourth entries in the Amazing
Spider-Man franchise were set to open in 2016 and 2018 respectively, but it
looks like the studio liked Drew Goddard's rough script and is moving ahead
with the supervillain team-up movie first.
This move could also mean that the studio is trying to
let audiences forget the critical flop and box-office disappointment that was
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 before taking another crack at it, with a third installment
to be directed by the same director, Marc Webb.
