In a previous interview to IGN, Marvel Studios
President Kevin Feige revealed how their version of Quicksilver in the upcoming
Avengers: Age of Ultron will be different, and yet the same from the one used
by Bryan Singer in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
In X-Men: Days of Future Past, Evan Peter's
super-speed powers were presented as if the world had slowed down, and when
asked if they had plans to change Aaron Taylor-Johnson's effects so they would be
different, Feige gave a definitive, "No,
we're not."
He added, "And
there may be some things that look like that, because he runs really fast, and
time slows down if you want to be in his perspective while he's running
fast." However, he added, "they may as well be two completely
different characters." Kevin Feige continued, "We are very much playing up two things that [Days of Future
Past doesn't] play with: one is his relationship with his twin
sister, Wanda; the other is, his backstory as an Eastern European child of a
war-torn country, and we follow him throughout the whole movie -- him and Wanda
-- as it relates to their feelings about the Avengers and how that shifts and
changes over the course of the movie. So it's a very different thing than
coming out from one, unbelievably awesome showcase sequence of the movie, and
much more interwoven throughout the entire movie."
Opening on May 1st, 2015, Avengers: Age of Ultron
stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark
Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, James Spader, Thomas Kretschmann, Aaron Taylor-Johnson,
Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Andy Serkis,
and Josh Brolin.
