While attending last night's premiere of Guardians of
the Galaxy, Daredevil showrunner, Steven S. DeKnight revealed that they are
going for a "very gritty, 1970's New York feel. We love the idea of beauty
in the decay of the city, and Hell's Kitchen being a place that is both
horrible and beautiful at the same time. That's why Matt Murdock loves it so
much and wants to protect it."
The 13-episode series stars Charlie Cox, Rosario
Dawson, Elden Henson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Peter Shinkoda, and Deborah Ann Woll,
and is showrunned by Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight.
"Marvel’s Daredevil" follows the journey of
Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary
senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the
super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City.
