In the last couple of months, Benedict Cumberbatch has
been rumored in a couple of high profile gigs, like Star Wars: Episode VII, and
more recently Marvel's Doctor Strange.
After joking on the Penguins of Madagascar panel at
SDCC that he would like to play Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme, Cumberbatch spoke
with MTV News, and denied any involvement in the project, and added that he's currently
doing Hamlet in London, so he couldn't even he wanted to, but when asked if had
actually had any kind of conversations about the role, the actor said no
comment.
Scott Derrickson will be directing Doctor Strange, and
Edgar Ramirez has said that he had had talks with the director about possibly joining
in. The sorcerer supreme doesn't have a release date yet, but it's rumored it
could be July 8, 2016, but he have to wait for the Marvel panel to see if
that's the case.
