Alex Kurtzman Head's Universal's Classic Monster Shared Movie Universe

According to Deadline, Universal hired Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan to oversee their plans for a shared cinematic universe for their classic monsters, Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Creature Of The Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, Bride Of Frankenstein, and The Mummy.

They’ve begun the meetings to put together an interconnected slate of Monster films, and the first will be a reboot of The Mummy, which will be released April 22, 2016. Part of their duty will be to work closely with production, marketing, promotions and consumer product to support the revival. They will also reevaluate projects which have preexisting attachments, and bring it under one cohesive strategy.

With the exception of perhaps the first The Mummy, and Hollow Man, which were fun, I haven't been a huge fan of the "recent" adaptations, like The Mummy 2 and 3, The Wolfman, Van Helsing, and so forth. So I believe this is a good move from the studio to try and add something else to the mix while still trying to capitalize on the strong fandom (old and young) that these properties have.

The only thing left to see is how they will create a shared movie universe for all of the monsters.
