While Ant-Man dwindles with its
search for a director, Doctor Strange rises through the ranks and is getting
closer and closer to have all the pieces of the puzzle put together, especially
now that the studios has found director Scott Derrickson to helm the project.
With a director
in place, now it's time to start thinking about casting, and one name has
already made its way to the rumor mill, Jared Leto, but as fast as he popped up
he disappeared, as according to Deadline, the studio only has two names on its wish
list, those of Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch.
"I’m hearing that Tom
Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch are on it," writes the site.
Hardy and Cumberbatch aren't
strangers to comic book adaptations and big tentpole movies, but it seems that scheduling
conflicts could prevent either actor from playing Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme,
which isn't to say they won't. Either way we should expect to hear something at
this year's SDCC, as Marvel might be planning to release Doctor Strange after Captain
America 3 in 2016.
