Pegg, who was Scotty in the Star Trek reboot, join J.J. Abrams' Star Wars:
Episode VII.
According to IGN Middle East's sources, the actor was
spotted on the Abu Dhabi set of the film to shot some scenes.
In a previous interview, the
actor stated, "I don’t think
it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest. I think J.J. should
cast new faces with no stunt casting," and given that the actor has worked
with the director in both Star Trek installments, and in Mission: Impossible
III, and that he is a Star Wars fan, it is possible that the actor just popped
up on set to say hello and see how things were going. On the other side, it was in Abu Dhabi! and Pegg
did voice the bounty hunter Dengar on an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars,
so….maybe he will have a cantina type scene as the character?
