The Star Wars rumor mill is at
the point of breaking. Following the latest scoops, a new one claims that
Empire Strikes Back screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, who is currently working with
J.J. Abrams on Star Wars: Episode VII, has been tapped to pen the script for
the long rumored Boba Fett standalone movie. Furthermore, it seems that Kasdan might use some elements from a EU story in it, which is intriguing considering
the dance we had a few months ago about what was and what wasn't considered to be canon.
Nothing has been officially
confirmed but Schmoes Know and Jon Schnepp from AMC Movie Talk's have confirmed the rumors.
“One of [the Star Wars spinoffs] is Boba
Fett. It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but
it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.” - said Schnepp.
The final nail in the coffin, was
Hasbro's mishap a few weeks ago, were they pretty much announced the line-up of
Star Wars movies that are coming out.
Fall 2014: Rebels
2015: Episode
VII
2016: Boba Fett
2017: Episode
VIII
2018: Solo
2019: Episode IX
2020: Red Five
2020: Red Five
If you aren't a FAN of the franchise, here is a bit of trivia, Empire Strikes Back was the first Star Wars movie that Kasdan wrote and was the first appearance of Boba Fett.
