Image Comics' Rat Queens & Peter Panzerfaust To Be Adapted To TV

According to Variety, Image Comics' Rat Queens and Peter Panzerfaust will be adapted to the small screen. Created by Kurtis J. Wiebe and Roc Upchurch, Rat Queens will be produced by Weta Workshop's Pukeko Pictures, and Heavy Metal, and will be turned into a half-hour animated series. Peter Panzerfaust will be produced by BBC Worldwide, and Heavy Metal, with Life on Mars creators Matthew Graham, and Ashley Pharoah penning the pilot's script.

Rat Queens as been described as: "Who are the Rat Queens? A pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, and they're in the business of killing all god's creatures for profit. It's also a darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series starring Hannah the Rockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist Human Cleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief."

Peter Panzerfaust was also created by Wiebe, in collaboration with artist Tyler Jenkins, and is a retelling of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, set in a Nazi-occupied France, during WWII.
