In a recent AMA on Reddit, Agents
of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg, aka Agent Director Coulson, gave some
hints what we might expect in the upcoming second season of Marvel's Agents of
S.H.I.E.L.D.
The actor was asked if Coulson got
his vintage Captain America signed trading cards back.
“That's a very good question. If I were you, I would
check out Season 2 of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Not official, but it would make
sense that now that Coulson has been tasked to rebuilt S.H.I.E.L.D., that he
would try to recruit his biggest idol, Captain America, to this new S.H.I.E.L.D.
“I'm really digging Secret Warriors”, which
hopefully will be the show next step, but with Thanos looming on the horizon,
it's doubtful.
The actor then said what his favorite moments from
season 1 were “a
toss-up between being handed my old gun from The Avengers, being told by Nick
Fury that I (Coulson) was an Avenger, or moments later, when I received the
title "Director Coulson."
Finally, Gregg was asked what
other character he would like to play from the Marvel Universe, and he said:
“Captain Marvel”.
Since we first discovered that Coulson's Tahiti vacation
was actually a bunker with a blue alien in it, many people have been
speculating that the Alien was a Kree and that Coulson's next step will be to
become Captain Marvel thanks to the GH-325 serum. But this is just a rumor, and
for a show that is about the AGENTS of S.H.I.E.L.D., suddenly turning its lead
character into a cosmic superhero would be strange, plus we still need to
figure out who and what is Skye.
Either way new and exciting things are ahead for the
show, so don't miss it when it returns this Fall.
