Disney's baseball biopic starring Jon Hamm, Million Dollar Arm has managed
to stay in this weekend's top 10, despite dropping two spots to number ten. John
Favreau's indie, Chef is holding on in ninth. The Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore
comedy, Blended continues to fall on the chart, from fifth to eight. The rated-R
comedy Neighbors drops on spot from last weekend's countdown, at number seven.
The king of monsters fell two spots this weekend, and currently sits in sixth
place. One of the biggest disappointments of the year is Seth MacFarlane's A
Million Ways to Die in the West, which dropped two slots, standing in fifth.
X-Men: Days of Future Past also fell, from second to fourth.
Now for the top three.
In third place, we have Doug Liman's alien invasion/Groundhog Day movie,
Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.
In second stands, Disney's re-imagining of Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent,
starring Angelina Jolie
And in first we have the tearjerker movie of the year, The Fault in our Stars
starring Shailene Woodley as Hazel and Ansel Elgort as Gus, two teenagers who
share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps
them on a journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous given that
Hazel's other constant companion is an oxygen tank, Gus jokes about his
prosthetic leg, and they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.
