In a recent interview to THR, X-Men:
Days of Future Past screenplay writer Simon Kinberg, said that he would like to
see a crossover between the X-Men and Fantastic Four, which he co-wrote. This a
slightly different tune from what he said previously, where he stated that it
would be virtually impossible to see both franchises share a universe, since
neither have acknowledge the other's existence.
"In the world of Marvel
Studios and everything they're doing that we've been inspired by, anything is
possible". Kinberg also stated, "I would say purely as a fan of
comics and these film franchises, I would love to see it, but it has
challenges".
He says there would be some
major hurdles to overcome from a storytelling standpoint, particularly because
neither franchise has acknowledged the existence of the other to date.
