Drew Goddard Confirmed To Helm Sinister Six

Despite of also being attached to write and direct the Daredevil series for Marvel and Netflix, Drew Goddard is now also going direct the Spider-Man spinoff film Sinister Six for Sony.

When it was first announced that the studio was going to expand the Spider-Man universe with two new properties, i.e. Venom and The Sinister Six, it was also announced that The Cabin in the Woods co-writer and director Drew Goddard was going to pen the screenplay for the latter, and now according to HV, the director has been tapped to not only write but also direct what will surely be one of the toughest comic book adaptation ever, given that there are no heroes, only villains.

In the original run of the comic, the Sinister Six consisted of Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Electro, Mysterio, Vulture and Kraven the Hunter. It's more likely that the roster will change for the spinoff movie, since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features Electro, the Green Goblin, Rhino, plus the special cameos if you will, of Doctor Octopus tentacles and Vulture's wings in the trailer and if we ad Rhys Ifans Lizard from the first movie, we get the Sinister Six, or so we say.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2nd.
