Keanu Reeves romantic space drama is in a tough spot. Written by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) Passenger follows Reeve's character a passenger on a spacecraft that is taking thousands of people to a distant planet, until his sleeping chamber malfunctions.

Witherspoon was originally cast to star oposit Reeves but after a few
months of being cast she decided to drop out of the project. Actress
Rachel McAdams was then brought in to replace Witherspoon, the
project was picked up by The Weinstein Company at Cannes, director
Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones) boarded the film and a release date was
set for April 3rd,
2015, but when things seemed to start to be moving forward after years
of development hell, McAdams followed Witherspoon's lead and dropped
out of the project as did the WC.
Now according to The Wrap Focus Features is in talks for the North America destribution. This is good news and producers are now in search of a new co-star for Reeves who is also producing.
