Following the recent announcement of actor Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, the second in command for as Jada Pinkett Smith’s Fish Mooney, Warner Bros. Television and Fox have now announced the cast for the young Bruce Wayne and the teenage Selina Kyle.
For the role of young Bruce
Wayne, the network has cast the 13 year old David Mazouz (Touch) and for Selina
Kyle, aka Catwoman the network has chosen actress Camren Bicondova.
In the Gotham series, Bruce Wayne
is described as "not a playboy-by-day, vigilante-by-night, but a preteen
who has been sentenced to a solitary life after his parents' tragic
murders," while Selina is described as "a teen orphan who is
suspicious and wholly unpredictable. A skilled pickpocket and street thief,
[she] is pretty dangerous when cornered."
Both actors will then join Ben
McKenzie (Gordon), Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin), Sean
Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth), Zabryna Guevara (Captain Essen), Jada Pinkett
Smith (Fish Mooney), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean), Donal Logue (Detective
Harvey Bullock) and Drew Powell (Butch Gilzean).
Written by Bruno Heller (The
Mentalist), Gotham will explore the origin stories of Commissioner Gordon and
the villains that call Gotham home.
Danny Cannon (CSI, Nikita) will
helm the pilot and executive produce alongside Heller.
