Per Deadline, actor Drew Powell (The
Mentalist) is the latest addition to the Gotham series. The actor has been cast
as Butch Gilzean, a new character that serves as second in command to Jada
Pinkett Smith’s gangster boss Fish Mooney.
In addition to Jada, Powel will
join Ben McKenzie (Gordon), Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot, aka The
Penguin), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth), Zabryna Guevara (Captain Essen),
Erin Richards (Barbara Kean), and Donal Logue (Detective Harvey Bullock).
Written by Bruno Heller (The
Mentalist), Gotham will explore the origin stories of Commissioner Gordon and
the villains that call Gotham home.
Danny Cannon (CSI, Nikita) will
helm the pilot and executive produce alongside Heller.
