The
first set of images from director Michaël
R. Roskam’s crime
drama The Drop (formerly titled Animal Rescue) have surfaced. Penned
by Mystic River and Shutter Island author Dennis Lehane, The Drop
follows Tom Hardy, a former criminal that works as a bartender at a
bar that is used by local gangsters to “drop” money. The story
develops when Hardy's character rescues a pit bull puppy and becomes
targeted by the dogs abusive and mentally unstable owner.
The
movie counts with a stellar cast, which includes Tom Hardy, Noomi
Rapace, Matthias Schoenaerts and the great late James Gandolfini, who
sadly makes with The Drop his last appearance on film.
