Johnson is the latest addition to Scott Cooper's (Out of the Furnace)
Whitey Bulger biopic, Black Mass. The actress has been tapped to play
Lindsey, the mother of Bulger's 6 year old son Douglas.
Black
Mass tells the story of James “Whitey” Bulger, an Irish street
thug who raised to power in the organized crime by feeding
information to his FBI connections about the Italian mafia in New
England and so building an empire. When his FBI’s contacts, John J.
Connolly Jr. and Dick Morris went down for corruption in the 1990’s
Bulger took off and was only captured more than a decade later in
2012.
Johnny
Depp is playing Bulger, Joel Edgerton is set to play FBI agent and
Whitey's childhood friend John Connolly and Guy Pearce is playing
Bill, one of Bulger's two brothers.
Johnson
can be seen in Need for Speed starring opposite Aaron Paul and
Dominic Cooper and a year from now will be playing Anastasia Steele
in the feature film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.
