The cinematography in Skyfall was
one of the things that set this new iteration of James Bond apart from the
others, so one I was expecting to see cinematographer Roger Deakins back behind
the cameras to deliver yet another gorgeous movie, but no. According In
Contention’s Kris Tapley, Deakins will not return as the cinematographer for
Bond 24.
At this time there aren’t any
obvious reasons why Deakins won’t return but given that he is probably one of
the most sought after cinematographers in town one imagines that scheduling is
the reason why Deakins won’t return.
Deakins is currently nominated
for his eleventh Academy Award for his work on Prisoners and he just finished
shooting Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken.
Bond 24 is set to open in the U.K.
on October 24th, 2015 and in the U.S. on November 6th,
2015.
