James Gunn Gives More Details On Guardians of the Galaxy

The trailer for one of Marvel’s biggest gambles so far (Guardians of the Galaxy) just came out and for the most part people seem excited with what they saw, but fans are already asking some questions. In an interview to the Pointless Podcast, Gunn talked about the alien species in the film, more precisely why are we seeing some and not others.

"Marvel only partially owns Skrulls, and also for the record, we don't own the Badoon either. So people were asking why we have the Sakaaran in the film, we don't own the Badoon."

Gunn also revealed who gave the motion capture performance for Rocket Raccoon, given that Bradley Cooper only stepped in to voice the character when production had concluded.

"My brother Sean Gunn wore a little green suit and he waddled around and he acted out Rocket. I think all of the guys will attest to the fact, and they have in all their interviews, that he was a great part of the team, and it really was Zoe, Dave, Chris, and Sean who sort of like created the energy that people will see in the movie between these four characters, who are usually at odds and sometimes find common ground. Sean was a big part of that energy and creating that, not only was a he doing a great job performing himself, but also gave the other actors something to work off of so they're not working with a tennis ball."

And finally Gunn teased as to when we might hear Cooper’s voice work as Rocket Raccoon.

"They will be hearing Rocket speak in something very, very soon."
