For those of you that prefer dub over sub, here is the first dubbed clip from Hayao Miyazaki’s last film, The Wind Rises, which tells the story of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who design the Zero Fighter planes that flew in World War 2.
The American dubbed version will
count with Joseph Gordon-Levitt voicing the main character, Jiro Horikoshi and
with John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Martin Short, Stanley Tucci, Mandy Patinkin,
Werner Herzog, William H. Macy, Mae Whitman, Jennifer Grey, Darren Criss, Ronan
Farrow, and Elijah Wood.
The Wind Rises opened on July
20th in Japan and will open on February 21st in the US.
The Wind Rises Synopsis:
In “The Wind Rises,” Jiro dreams
of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian
aeronautical designer Caproni. Nearsighted and unable to be a pilot, he becomes
one of the world’s most accomplished airplane designers, experiencing key
historical events in an epic tale of love, perseverance and the challenges of
living and making choices in a turbulent world.
