Yesterday we announced that
Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo were in
negotiations to helm Captain America 3 and that they were already working on something to show, now comes word that Thor might be
getting the same treatment. Marvel announced today that Senior Vice President
of Production and Development Craig Kyle will co-write with Christopher Yost
Thor 3.
“I am proud of Craig and have
enjoyed working with him over these past years," Said Kevin Feige, the President
of Production. "His creative instincts have helped shape 'Thor' and 'Thor:
The Dark World' at every level of the filmmaking process. The entire team at
Marvel is very happy to continue collaborating with Craig as he continues as a
screenwriter working with Christopher on the forthcoming chapter of Thor’s
adventure.”
Kyle’s career at Marvel Studios
began in 2001 as the sole Creative Executive for the animation division. In 2003
Kyle created X-23, an adolescent clone of Wolverine, which was a year later
introduced into the comic book world and quickly become one of the most popular
new characters from Marvel over the last year. Kyle also developed, produced
and written a number of Marvel’s direct to DVD animations including Ultimate
Avengers: I & II, Invincible Iron Man, Hulk VS, Next Avengers, Doctor
Strange, Planet Hulk and Thor: Tales of Asgard. He also co-wrote a series of
comics, like "New X-Men," "X-23: Innocence Lost" and
"X-Force" (also with Yost).
Marvel as confirmed that they sort
of have movies planned until 2021, and although many titles have been rumored
and quasi confirmed like Doctor Strange, it is possible that Captain America 3
and Thor 3 will take either the July 8, 2016, or May 6, 2016 or even the July
8, 2017 time slots, since I’m not seeing Marvel moving ahead with other titles
and leave these two massive ones linger.
What do you think?
